Philadelphia photographer Kristen Kalp holds degrees in English and Education. She enjoyed being a teacher until realizing family photographers get to play with kids but don't have to issue homework or attend endless staff meetings. She founded Essential Imagery in 2007 and still finds it the perfect excuse for playing in the dirt.
